Dear Friends,

We wish you a happy new year. We thought you would like to see one of Sr Esther’s masterpieces. Since her work has been featured on the website, she has received a number of commissions, and we love this one. it is–guess whom? of course, St Francis.

Sister does not produce her artwork  in bulk. The person who is ordering is means something to her art, and she needs to know what is important to that individual. In this case, the wife of a soon-to-be graduate of divinity school wanted to give her husband in image of his favorite saint. She specified that she was not Catholic–as if that mattered. Who does not love St Francis?

And speaking of St Francis, to whom we owe the Christmas Crib, we hope you all had the most beautiful of CHristmas celebrations, and we ALSO hope that whatever you got in terms of WEATHER was not too horribly oppressive. We spent a lot of our prayer time on friends, neighbors, and world spots who were so gravely afflicted.

The next of these entries will be dealing with Christmas Past, and now we hope you have learned that we are back after a few serious glitches. Our friends at Anchor Wave have repaired the journalists’ errors and we are happy to be passing on the daily happenings of our desert home. Stay tuned…
